Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • In good physical health.

  • Of sound moral character and prepared to fill a position of responsibility and trust.

  • Firefighter certification or willingness to complete necessary educational requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of a one year probationary period.

Applications will be reviewed by department administration.  When vacancies exist candidates will be contacted for an interview.  Candidates that are hired will be required to attend department provided training. The department holds a monthly business meeting on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The department holds a monthly training on the third Monday of the month also at 6:30 p.m. Additional training is required for new firefighter recruits. The department paid training is offered through Madison College and is conducted in the evening either at our fire department or at a neighboring department.
